The department has 7 laboratories (power supply, electrical engineering and electrical engineering, electrical networks and systems, electrical machines and apparatuses, electrical measurements, electrical machines, electrical engineering and electrical materials, electronic energy and computer laboratory).The department conducted research on the development of energy-saving technologies with the study of the potential of alternative energy sources, as a result of which the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the upper Shirvan canal was included in the technical program of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a patent was issued for a utility model of an agricultural tractor powered by solar energy. Currently, the department is headed by associate professor, professor of ADAU Mammadov Siyaset Zulfugar.
The department employs 11 faculty members, including 5 PhD and associate professors (2 ADAU professors), 1 PhD and senior lecturer, 3 senior teachers, 2 assistants.
