Today 40 students who graduated from the Kahriz engineering course of the Kahriz Research and Information Centre of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) were awarded certificates.
The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Anar Khatamov and Head of the Office of the UN Agency for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan Vladimir Giorgiev.
Students of the Department of Amelioration and hydrotechnical installations, studying in the relevant specialties, received practical knowledge on the application of new technologies in the field and the specialty of Kahriz Engineering.
The courses were conducted within the framework of the project "Integrated Rural Development in IDP settlements through the rehabilitation of Kahriz water systems in Azerbaijan" implemented with the financial support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Within the framework of the existing cooperation between the IOM office in Azerbaijan and ADAU, a specialised Kahriz research and information centre was also opened at the university to collect information on kahriz systems, conduct research and exchange knowledge and experience.
